Narrative Text

Definition of Narrative Text 

The purpose of narrative text is a type of text that tells a story or describes a sequence of events.

generic structure of narrative text: Orientation:  the beginning of the introduction of the text. It tells or introduces the readers about the character(s), the time, the place, and the direction of the story

Complication: a problem or challenge that the characters need to solve or overcome

Resolution: the part of the narrative where the conflict or problem introduced earlier in the story is resolved or addressed

a long time ago in a land far away there lived a wealthy merchant and his three beautiful daughters the third one though was far prettier and wiser than the others so everyone called her beauty on the other hand her sisters were jealous and mean they were more interested in spending their father's money beauty used to dream about a handsome prince she always thought that one day she will marry the prince and stay in a beautiful palace with him everything was happy in beauty's life like her dreams and one day her fate changed due to a terrible storm her father lost all his ships and so all his money it's all over deer 

soon they reached the road of orange trees and saw that the castle was brilliantly lighted when they reached the great hall they found a splendid fire burning and the table richly spread with a delicious meal they were very hungry after the long travel so both started eating the meal but they had hardly finished their meal when the noise of the beast's footsteps was heard approaching good evening beauty good evening majesty so have you come willingly yes will you be staying here when your father goes away yes go back to your horse you will find another horse loaded with trunks full of gold which is for you and the rest of your daughters  

and that is more than i can ask for in life beauty will you marry me yes i will as soon as beauty spoke the beast gets covered in a blinding light and then floats into the air and descends back again as the charming prince oh my god you are the prince of my dreams i always dream of you ah beauty my sweet beauty thank you for releasing me from a terrible curse a witch i killed in the battle placed a curse upon me when she was dying she cursed me that nobody could ever love me and turn me into a terrible beast but you have broken the curse with your true love oh i can't believe what is happening now am i dreaming the beast softly pinched her ouch it's not a dream you are my real prince my true love now we should wait no more let's go to your home and prepare your family for our wedding dance and the marriage was celebrated the very next day with the utmost splendor finally the kindness went over the beauty beauty isn't about having a pretty face it is about having a pretty mind a pretty heart and most importantly a beautiful soul the beauty and the prince lived happily ever after

Cinderella

Once upon a time, in a village there lived a beautiful girl named Cinderella with her wicked stepmother and two step sisters. She worked hard all day. One day, they all went to a ball in the palace, leaving Cinderella behind. Cinderella was feeling sad. Suddenly there was a burst of light and the fairy godmother appeared.With a flick of the magic she turned Cinderella into a beautiful princess with glass slippers and a horse carriage appeared at the door. The fairy godmother warned Cinderella to return before midnight. Cinderella arrived at the ball, the prince saw her and fell in love with her.

They danced together all night. as the clock struck twelve, Cinderella rushed out to her carriage leaving one of her slippers behind.

The prince went to every house in the town with the slipper until he found Cinderella. The prince and Cinderella lived happily ever after.

The Lion and The Mouse

once upon a time, a lion, the king of the jungle was sleeping under a tree. a little mouse jumped on him soon the lion woke up picked up the mouse and opened his mouth to eat him "im sorry to wake you up. please don't eat me. i can help you one day." "hahaha that's funny.. okay i'll let you go now." a few days later a hunter's net fell on the lion the lion couldn't get out the mouse saw the lion and ran to help quickly the mouse helped the lion by gnawing the net then the lion could get out from the net "you are a little mouse but you are a big help thank you!" just forget it mr lion i'm happy to help you" then the mouse smiled happily and left to lion.

The Ant and The Elephant

Once upon a time, there lived a huge elephant in a jungle. He was arrogant and always underestimated animals smaller than him. In the same jungle, there lived a family of ants. Every morning, they would go in search of food and on their way back, they would always see the elephant troubling other animals.

One day, when the ant family was coming back collecting their food, the elephant sprayed a trunk full of water on them. “You shouldn’t hurt others like this” cried one of the ants. “Shut up you, tiny ant! Keep quiet or I will crush you to death,” said the elephant angrily. The poor ant kept quiet and went on its way. But she decided to teach the proud elephant a lesson. 

Next day, when the elephant was sleeping, the tiny ant slowly crept into the elephant’s trunk and started biting him. The elephant woke up and tried everything to get the ant out his trunk but could not. Such a big animal but he could not do anything to get the tiny ant out. 

The elephant started to cry and begged sorry to the ant. “I hope now you understand how 
others feel when you hurt them” said the ant. “Yes, I do. Yes, I do,” cried the elephant and pleaded the ant to come out. The ant took pity on the elephant and came out of his trunk. From that day onward, the elephant never troubled any animals.

The Legend Of Surabaya

Along time ago on East Java. There were two strong animals, Sura and Baya. Sura was a shark and Baya was a crocodile. Actually, they were a friend, but when they were hungry. They were very greedy and did not want to share their food. They fought for it and never stop. 

One day, Sura and Baya were looking some food, but they did not want to share and they fought again. After several hours Sura and Baya had plan to stop their fought. Sura live and look for food in sea, and Baya live and look for food on land. But one day, Sura went to the land and look for food in the river, but Baya was angry when he knew that Sura was broke the promise. Then Sura and Baya fought again and finally Sura was gave up and he went back to the sea. People then always talked about the fought between Sura and Baya. They named the place of the Fought as Surabaya. it's from Sura the shark and Baya the crocodile. People also put their fought as the symbol as Surabaya city.

The legend of Lake Toba

Long time ago, a young man lived in a valley in North Sumatera. He was poor and lived with nobody. Every day, he went to the river and caught some fish to eat.

       One day, he went fishing after working in the fields. But not like the other days, he got nothing even after waiting for hours. When he decided to go home, he felt the rod jolted. That’s fish! He pulled the rod out and he was jolly to see a small goldfish. Imagining that he would eat a goldfish, he went home excitedly.

       At home, the young man put the small fish on the table. He prepared some firewood to cook. When everything was ready, he went back to the kitchen. But he saw nothing on the table! The fish disappeared! Instead, he saw a beautiful woman.

       After having a short conversation, the young man asked to marry her. She accepted only in one condition, the man should never mention where she came from. The man agreed and they got married. They had a handsome yet naughty boy named Samosir.

       One day, Samosir made his father angry. The man shouted loudly and said the prohibited words. He said that Samosir was son of fish. Suddenly, rain fell for weeks and turned the valley into a lake.
